Vijay Sampla
informed
Rajya Sabha
that
National
Safari
Karmacharis
Finance &
Development
Corporation
(NSKFDC) is
implementing
a scheme
Swachhta
Udyami
Yojana (SUY) for
rehabilitation
of safai
karmacharis,
identified
manual
scavengers
and their
dependants.
Under this
scheme
financial
assistance
in the form
of loan at
concessional
rate of
interest is
provided for
the
following
projects:
(i) Upto
Rs.25.00
lacs for
setting
up Pay &
Use
Community
Toilets
in
Public
Private
Partnership
Mode.
(ii)
Upto Rs.
15.00
lacs for
Procurement
of
Sanitation
related
Vehicles
such as
Garbage
Trucks,
Suction,
Jetting
Machine
and
Vacuum
Loader
etc.
The scheme
is
implemented
under Public
Private
Partnership
under which
NSKFDC
provides
financial
assistance
in the form
of loan at
concessional
rate of
interest
upto 90% of
the project
cost and
balance 10%
is shared by
the State
Government/beneficiary
